What Materials is your Dinnerware made of?

Selecting from a wide range of different dishes have its disadvantage. Because of the price range and the materials to choose from, many people are having a hard time on what to choose. Porcelain dinnerware is actually made from clay. Clay is a natural material that is durable that when undergo number of applications it is almost unbreakable. That is the main reason why porcelain dinnerware are more expensive compared to other dinnerware. It has a translucent look plus the sturdiness which makes the perfect dinnerware properties – Strong and Elegant.

Stoneware on the otherhand is considered to be the ultimate substitue of porcelain. It is also made from clay but the heating process is less than that required of the porcelain. The result gives it a strong brown or gray color, owing to the impurities presents in it.

Glaze is usually applied to the surface of stoneware to give it a shinging appearance. It is the finishing process of every stoneware. Stoneware are excellent for everyday use and it can be put into a dishwasher without any dire effects.

You can even find earthenware in the making of pottery. It usually consists of materials such as clay, feldspar and quartz. Red is the most common color but other variants can be found. Brown is a quite a popular color too.

Remember to choose your dinnerware set wisely. Porcelain may catch your eye and charm you with its beauty but it is also quite expensive. You can look at stoneware options which provide you great durability and strength and are also scratch proof. A host of design can also be found in stoneware and you can choose based on your taste as it caters to different occasion such as formal dinners and casual dinners too.
